Our first stop was Cambridge, where Amy (our niece) welcomed us and gave us an insiders student view of that lovely city.
Then, we activated our 15 day Britrail passes and took the train to Muncaster Castle and Ravenglas in the Lake District of England.
Amy met up with us for a trip to Scotland where we visited the Isle of Skye and Dunnottar Castle. A high point of our trip was a visit with Amy's friend, Helen, and her family in Pittenweem and Edinburgh.
Then, Janet and I traveled to the coast of Wales where we visited the Center for Alternative Technology, Barmouth, and Harlech Castle.
